Book Development and Editing

Many clients have come to us saying, “I have a manuscript. Now what?”

Congratulations! Completing a manuscript is a tremendous accomplishment. Now it’s time to transform your draft into a polished, professional book that reflects the quality of your ideas and serves your readers well. Whether your manuscript needs developmental guidance, line editing, copy editing, or comprehensive book development, we’re here to help.

  • Developmental Editing strengthens the organization, structure, flow, and effectiveness of your manuscript.
  • Line Editing refines your writing sentence by sentence to improve clarity, style, and readability.
  • Copy Editing corrects grammar, punctuation, spelling, consistency, and other mechanical issues.
  • Complete Book Development takes you from manuscript to publication. If your manuscript needs additional development, we’ll guide you through that process. Then, we’ll handle the different stages of editing and the layout. Finally, we’ll provide self-publishing assistance to get your book across the finish line so you can get it into the hands of readers.

Every writing project is different.

Because every manuscript is unique, we don’t give a price (a quote) until we’ve examined the manuscript and had a conversation with you about your project.

Giving a price without knowing your needs and your manuscript’s needs would be like a home builder saying, “I will build whatever home you want for $X.” The builder doesn’t know if you need two bedrooms or five, so how on earth can that person say how much it will cost to build your house?” Simply put, no honest builder can give a price that way, and you wouldn’t want them to, or you could open the door for the first time only to find the doorknob falling off in your hand.

We’ll listen to your goals for your book, evaluate what you’ve written (it’s okay if you haven’t started yet), and recommend the services that will best help you to create the book you want to publish. Then, and only then, we’ll provide a custom quote based on your project’s specific needs.

Let’s get acquainted.

The best editing and book-development relationships begin with a conversation. To make the best use of your time and ours, we’d like to learn a little about you, your manuscript, and your goals before we schedule a Zoom call. Just complete our brief questionnaire, and we’ll review your project and contact you to discuss the next steps.

Tell us about your project.
